A plant-based "vegan" option for children in the heavily meat & dairy subsidized and marketed school cafeterias? Unheard of! Well this is a huge opportunity to give students a healthier lunch option:

Please vote for the children!

A vegan diet has been shown by many studies to be healthier than the Standard American Diet! Think about it - how many times can you recall seeing an obese vegan? If only all fast food were vegan... My site lists healthy vegan choices when you eat out.

Oprah is going beyond vegan, and giving up things that vegans do eat. But I agree that vegan diets can be very satisfying as well as healthy. I also eat dairy and eggs (but not fish or meat), which I don't intend to give up, but I can understand the vegan point of view. The negative comments about vegetarian and vegan diets in Barbara Kingsolver's book was the reason I pretty much stopped reading it in the middle.
