FDA stops imports of Chinese milk products

I’m told that FDA laboratories are still finding melamine in milk-containing food products imported from China.  In response, the FDA has issued a countrywide  import alert, meaning that FDA officials can detain the products without having to examine and test them.  The list of detainable products is long and includes not only milk but also yogurt, desserts, cakes and cookies, candies, chocolate, beverages, and- shades of 2007 – dog and cat food.

Good. Until there has been a radical change in the ethics of food producers in China, I am quite happy to let them rot in their unsold products.
People and animals all over the world have been injured and killed for their greed. Let them clean things up at their own expense.

A recent poll reveals that 65% of pet owners are now making home made foods for their pets, rather than risk their health on processed commercial pet foods that have been adulterated with melamine.
I believe it is time that all people read the labels on the foods they are eating as well, and take more time to carefully consider the possible consequences of non-vigilance. With the global economy our foods are no longer just from the USA.
