This is criminal behavior and should incur both criminal and civil liabilities, up to and including manslaughter or second degree murder if someone dies. Jail a few top level executives and that will put an end to this insanity.

That’s disgusting! I guess if they had fixed the problem we wouldn’t have a new batch of Salmonella pistachios so quickly. Will they be penalized accordingly for willful contamination of food?

Is there no legal mechanism to prevent or stop this insane abuse? Some “recall”–and so much for “voluntary” actions from industry!

Good lord, I bought some pistachios last week for a middle eastern recipe! I think I’ll throw them out (they were quite expensive!).
