All 203 cereals on the "Smart Choices" list are produced by three companies: General Mills, Kelloggs, and Quaker.

What does that tell you?

Outrageous and upsetting. As the parent of three sugar-sensitive children, I'm more and more inclined to just make everything myself. They have developed progressive allergies over the years and I'm convinced, anectodally, that the root of the allergies are due to this kind of stuff that's added to almost all mass produced/marketed products. Thanks for the alert on this!

One look at the ingredients list- sugar, trans fat, artificial colors and flavors, and BHT tells that this should not be consumed by anyone, let alone be a "Smart Choice".
The American Society of Nutrition should be pushing for real food, not processed junk. This whole thing is very sad.
