Apparently, too busy and oblivious to all this marketing business -- I just noticed the straw is plain and normal. My son has been using BioGaia probiotics for years (because of the excellent benefits of probiotics), it was great when they combined with BioGaia for the straw and for the last 1.5 years he's been drinking one kids boost with the straw (daily before bed) and his overall health (tummy, allergies and colds) have greatly improved. Although I agree, a large company such as Nestle should've known not to market the product they way they did, however, it is a shame it's now off the market due to a bad marketing strategy. Why not just change the marketing and say....it's good for you, period, just like the rest of the drink.

While this Nestles product and its claims are clearly junk, I'm surprised at your skeptical comments on the value of probiotics. There has been excellent research on the value of probiotics in a number of areas, including allergy prevention, inflammatory bowel disease, and recently, prevention of colds and flus. See the May issue of "Pediatrics" for articles about probiotics and the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis in premature infants.
Keep up the great work on monitoring these shameless companies.

While you'd think a company of that size would hire smarter lawyers, it seems the bigger they are, the more opportunities to try and get away with false claims. Maybe now that FTC is actually on the job, and even FDA is showing signs of life, those corporate lawyers will wake up too.
